Six Word Memoir

Posted under Being RSG, Higher Learning by Recovering Straight Girl

A while back, Grumpy Granny tagged me to write a Six Word Memoir. I wasn’t blowing her off–just busy dealing with children and going to museums and movies and seeing former presidents and feeling like crap from a cold.

Well, guess what my first assignment is for my Creative Non-Fiction class?

A Six Word Memoir. And because I’m an over-achiever, I’ve written several. Tell me what you think:

“Evolving, Awakening, Discovering—My Amazing Life.”

“Discovering my Self was ultimate freedom.”

“Never again will someone mistreat me.”

“My partner completes who I am.”

“I wait patiently—for sunny days.”

“My teenage daughter makes me crazy.”

It’s super fun. You should try. (That’s not a memoir, just a suggestion.)

  1. GG Said,

You’re kidding! Was that really your first assignment? I love serindipity!

I like: “Discovering my Self was ultimate freedom”

    Go for it!

    GG

  2. tysgirl Said,

I agree with GG, “Discovering my Self was ultimate freedom” is my favorite of the bunch.

  3. Wendy (another) Said,

What an assignment! I’ll have to think about that! I like:
    “Evolving, Awakening, Discovering—My Amazing Life.”

  4. Kristine Said,

“wells fargo bites. they screwed me.”

“blue eye shadow. bring it back.”

“in my next life, toaster ovens”

Oh I can go on for days!

  5. Eileen Said,

I love the first two…….they are both creative, and powerfull…
    Good luck

  6. traci Said,

What a great assignment. I think I’m going to steal it for my blog!

  7. Cat Said,

Teenage thing I can totally relate. But really they all sound good,

Disccvering yourself is always a good “catcher”. People want to know how you’ve done it, of course for their-selfs.

  8. SassyFemme Said,

Living life with arms wide open.

Trying extra hard, afraid to disappoint.

So in love with my wife.

Wishing Jen was still a teen. (Yes, I am really that crazy!)

  9. Donna in Atlanta Said,

Young mother, older lesbian, loving life

  10. Velvet Verbosity Said,

Hey, wait a minute! You stole my memoir! “My teenage daughter makes me crazy!” That was mine. Mine Mine Mine!

Oh wait. Maybe that experience is universal.
