What? You didn’t have a Gay Thai man come over and cook you lunch this weekend?

Well, we did.

Our friend Ram (who is an amazing Thai Chef and owns his own restaurant) came over to our house on Saturday afternoon and cooked us lunch.

He made us amazing pot stickers.

Amazing curry.

Amazing noodles.

And amazing dessert, sticky rice and Mangos.
He also brought wine, which meant I was tired the rest of the day. I’m too old to drink in the middle of the day!

Wink really like Ram, but we didn’t give her any Thai food.

The rest of the day I caught up on my reading, the dogs sat by the fireplace,

and we just chilled.

Now that was a delightful Saturday.

Speaking of delightful.

My Internet BFF wrote a fab little piece in today’s Oregonian book section. Hop on over there and read it and tell her how amazing she is. I plan on telling her later this week while we lunch on pasta and sip red wine at Portland’s fanciest outdoor mall. We’ll both be wearing our Prada’s, so if you see us out dining, please stop by and say hello.

Tomorrow the RSG family will be dining with my world traveling friend LeLo. She has returned from her fabulous birthday vacation and we will be sadly giving her back her dog.

We love Wink.

We’re off to enjoy a rare but wonderful sunny March day, Happy Sunday everyone. Ciao.

  1. kate Said,

I made a thai dish yesterday but I am sure it was not as good as your friends.

It sounds like you had a great weekend.

  2. Syd Said,

Holy shit! I’m so envious of your lunch.

You know, it could be perfect (muffin) payback if you fed Wink a bunch of Thai food just before relinquishing custody to Lelo.

  3. melissa lion Said,

Thanks! My interviewees were quite lovely.

You forgot — we’ll also be signing autographs at lunch!

Can’t wait for our meal. I’m going to draw hearts on the table because I get a little stoopid around fellow bloggers.

  4. Tinder Said,

What?? That’s LUNCH? I am so jealous. That curry looks fantastic. I’m drooling on my keyboard.

  5. Wacky Mommy Said,

EXcellent! Isn’t a day like that the best? Glad you had fun with NoPo Doggy.

  6. limpy99 Said,

I couldn’t have cared less if the cook at “Johnny Rockets” was gay or straight, Thai, Laotian or Vietnameses, but when I ordered a chocolate shake and he sent me a coffee shake, it was on, bitch!

Not that that has anything to do with your lunch, but I’m still bitter about that.

  7. Patti Said,

I have been jonesing for some good Thai… i’m so jealous! Glad you had a great week-end. Wink (& Ginger) are both so adorable. I love their noses.

  8. E. Said,

Yummy Lunch! I want a chef friend.

Bridgeport Village is a fun place to dine and shop…

  9. witchtrivets Said,

Yum. I haven’t had sticky rice and mangoes in forever. I think it might have been the last century. Maybe 2000. Suddenly I am very hungry.

  10. Corgimom Said,

Oh, what lucky women you are!! Thanks for sharing your weekend cheer–and let Ram know he has a place to stay and a free tour guide here in NM if ever he wants to wander down here and cook.

  11. Lisa Said,

Everywhere I look, Thai food. I am so jonesing for some. We have like two Thai restaurants in this whole damn town. Allegedly the 12th largest in the country or something like that. And I certainly don’t have any Thai chef to come over and cook for me. I’m so bummed. And now very hungry.

  12. NerdGirl Said,

Nothing better than a little midday buzz!
    Wink is a.d.o.r.a.b.l.e

  13. SassyFemme Said,

I don’t like curry, but that lunch looks wonderful!

  14. Acquafortis Said,

    Looks good!

  15. joeinvegas Said,

Could you ship him down to Vegas?
