I guess it wasn’t God after all

Posted under Political, Rants by Recovering Straight Girl

Apparently all of those fires in the liberal blue state of California were started by an arsonist and not God.

Well,  no worries, I’m sure that FEMA and the insurance companies will be handing out blank checks left and right to all of the rich white people in the Golden State. I’m actually surprised that re-construction efforts aren’t underway as we speak.

And the president is on his way there to survey the damage. Oh Lord.  That’s like the second coming of Christ.

The Republicans need those California votes in 2008.

Look out California, here they come.

  1. Lori Said,

Yeah, I kind of wonder how much faster aid will be for all the Republicans in Orange County vs the people in Tahoe after the fire there earlier this summer.

  2. weese Said,

    but are the arsonists republican?

  3. limpy99 Said,

Let’s be fair here. it’s a lot easier to get aid to a burned area than it is to get aid to an area that’s under 12′ of water. Besides, since this happens in California EVERY SINGLE YEAR AT THIS TIME, they have lots or practice.

But Bush is still an asshole.

  4. Recovering Straight Girl Said,

Limpy, don’t defend Bush, or his government. It gives me a tummy ache.

  5. Leane Said,

I thought not God, but that Satan was setting the fires to punish all the rich entertainers in California, all the people who have cheated, divorced and lived in sin. California–the land of sin-and flat stomachs-was being burned by Satan.. (HA)

Either way–the next worry is the iceberg that will melt and floor NYC.

  6. Leane Said,

flood. not floor. Sheesh. It’s Friday.

  7. PainterWoman Said,

We can hope that the new wave of Fema bureaucrats can get out of the way of the Californians who have not been as mired in graft and corruption as Louisiana was (aside from Duke Cunningham). AND, there was a feature on NPR about burned out communities teaching each other the best way to navigate rebuilding their spirits, their houses, and their neighborhoods.
Can you tell I’m still a California Girl at heart? (Even though everything is sagging?)

  8. Sally Said,

I keep thinking that there is a big advantage to being rich and white living in California… I feel bad for the things they lost that can’t be recovered or rebuild, pictures, memories… but I’m pretty sure they have full insurance to rebuild bigger and better. And FEMA can shine as a good helper that wasn’t where it was most needed.

  9. Sarah Said,

I have nothing kind to say about the President and although I REALLY want to say something right now…my mama taught me that if I can’t say anything nice, I shouldn’t say anything at all.

    Fucking prick.
