But.
We have plans to go to dinner with our neighbors this evening as a thank you for said neighbor putting a very large, BUTCH, hitch on the back of my Pilot, (for free.)Â The hitch will be used to tow the very BUTCH tent trailer that my wife recently purchased for our upcoming summer road-trip to the Grand Canyon.
Yes.
We are driving to the Grand Canyon and camping for nine days with three children, one of them a pre-teen.
So.
We’re taking our great neighbors to dinner to thank them and we must feed the children before going.
And as I sit here in my out to dinner attire, ready to write a long thought out post, I smell water boiling, (yes, I can smell water boiling.)
Which means only one thing.
HG is making the children macaroni and cheese.
And that, my friends.
Probably means my assistance is needed in the kitchen.
mmmmm, macaroni and cheese. i’m coming over, i’ll be there in five minutes.
Hope you had a fun dinner.
That road trip sounds fun to me. We are gonna buy us a hella RV one day and just drive our asses everywhere.
Maybe even to see you.
We had a tent trailer when I was younger. Those trips made some of the BEST memories.
Oh fun. I can’t wait to hear about it. Now that we are on the left coast mwt and I have a similar plan (minus the pre-teen). I did the trip from the east when I was much much younger. I’ll have to get hints and tips from you on the best way to make this journey from Portland.

I wonder if your kids are too old to threaten leaving them in the Grand Canyon if they don’t behave. I can still get away with that shit..
Oh threatening to leave them places is the most fun of vacations! When we were in Mexico last year, we dropped off some donations at an orphanage and told them about ten times if they didn’t straighten up, we would leave them there. And that they would have to trade their hair beads for food!
Mmmmmm, Kraft Dinner. Yum. Just had it last night as well.
The road trip actually sounds pretty cool. I guess it helps that Geo, Dink, and I love to just jump in the truck and go anywhere. JT better like the gypsy lifestyle he’s about to be born into.

I love that you’re driving the Pilot with a BUTCH, yes, I agree, BUTCH, hitch on it! Are you planning to drive up and camp in the National Forest or how will you handle the overnight arrangements? Planning any hiking? The Grand Canyon is a beauty…amazing gift from God. You will enjoy it. Your life will never be the same.
