#53 and #58 are oh so true!

And don't forget having a mediocre, at best, sex life. All my other married friends complained about it, too. I figured it was normal.

Now I just think many of them are in their own closets!

Thanks, from one RSG to another.

I don't know if you're interested, but I just read this post about someone looking for a doula to attend a few births with: http://community.livejournal.com/damnportlanders/11968511.html (if you don't have an lj account and want to contact this person, let me know and I can pass along a message).

Hi. Thank YOU. I love your blog a lot..

I am a very lucky HG to the world;s most sweetest, warmest, bestest, hottest, stunninglyest, amazing wonderful RSG who is a mom of 2 wonderful girls. Been together 1.5 years and I am still blown away. While it is not easy with everything involved (still married, coming process, occassional tear and a load of frustrations...IT IS still and always worth for love and risk.

In fact, it was she who turned me on to your writing. I am happy that there are other RSG's as you that put it out there so damn well....with with such wit and edge. Happy.

It seems to me that there are so many RSG's awakening and that is such a good thing... really it makes me happy that gals are honoring their true self and despite all odds (and scary XH's).

Oprah did a great show on this and it just aired for the third time yesterday and GLAAD has awarded her show as well! I truly believe that the true love shared between a RSG and another lucky lesbian -- is an amazing honor...a truly treasured bond, real and totally and sweetly h-o-t. and for this I am unbelievably GRATEFUL.

Thank YOU.

I've been reading your blog for a little while but just noticed this list tonight. My ex-husband treated me like a queen, but now he hates me because I also had an illicit lesbian love affair and then ended my marriage. I also never, ever thought I would do something like that. I thought all women fantasized about other women until after I came out and asked my best friend and she said "no, and that she could never "chow box" (she's a crass one) so that's how she knew that I was really a lesbian." I resent being thought of as bi just because I used to be with men, wear lipstick, don't give a shit who will win the superbowl, and would never, ever own a truck. I'm a lesbian who has only been with one woman but will never go back to men. I would love to be a doula, but in this life I'm a teacher.

The similarities continue - I am also a doula, but have not practiced in a while...life is a little too stressful right now.

I had an ironic laugh when I got to this one:
"I thought that all of those things were normal heterosexual behavior. "

Yup - that was me. Had all the attractions, all the fantasies and all the regrets and somehow convinced myself that this was all within the boundaries of normal heterosexuality. Um...nope :)

I'm not a RSG, but my partner is. She was married twice before and I am the first woman she's been with. We've been together for 5 years and live in Ashland, OR.

Hey, just found your blog. I love it! I too am a RSG although I had never heard that before. Used to think I was the only one. I didn't find out until I was 40! Fell in love and kissed my best friend. It turned my world upside down. I would love to read and write more. My blog is about art but I'm thinking of starting one about my personal life.
I would love to meet more people through blogging. My former best friend is now my partner for life. and we are raising my two boys.
We are very happy.

Yet another RSG checking in. We have so much in common, it's freakin' scary. Here's a list:

1. I have a blog - just a 360 one, but I write stuff. It's cool to me.
2. I came out at age 38. (close)
3. I thought I was the only woman this had ever happened to. Felt special.
4. I have a partner I adore. We're going on 8 years.
5. She's my 2nd girl thang. Was with the 1st one 4 years.
6. Was married for 20 years, have 2 daughters.
7. My ex used to verbally abuse me and "play" hit. I have alot of broken veins on my legs from that. I need that spider vein surgery.
8. My XH hates me too, and tells my daughters I'm going to hell. Oh, btw, he joined AA and ended up becoming a fundy minister after he left me for his secretary. But yeah, I'm sure I'm the hell-bound one.
9. I always had girl wet dreams too... thought everybody did.
10. I love dogs too... but cats the most.
11. I'm from PA too. Born in Lancaster. Moved away 24 years ago. Have lived in AZ ever since. Me n' HB are finally travelling to the Northwest next summer to visit our friend Gary, who lives in Portland. Never been before, I think I'm going to like it.
12. DF has her RE license and we own three rental properties.
13. I am a left-wing, liberal feminist Democrat and proud of it too! I have a sticker on my car that says, "Flaming Liberal With an Attitude."
14. I listen to liberal radio every day too. I love Randi, but I enjoy Stephanie Miller and Tom Hartman the most.
15. I believe in a higher power, and think that Jesus was the Ghandi of his day.
16. I am a total wine and coffee snob. I only drink red wine and it has to be quality or why bother? As for coffee - I just say no to Staryucks... I like the house roasted varieties at a couple of independents around here the best.
17. I always drank Constant Comment but recently I've switched to Good Earth Original.
18. I love my mom and she is one of my very best friends.
19. I have two half brothers I barely know.
20. I have two gorgeous daughters who turned out to be straight (well for now... who knows, they could be future RSGs) and I love them anyway.
21. I adore taveling, dancing and going out to dinner.
22. I like your blog immensely. And I know you do too.
